Where have you forsaken love?

This morning after meditation and prayer time with God I heard the words Revelation 2:4 whispered in my ear. 

This was the message in Revelation 2:4 - 

Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first.

Everytime God gives me a piece of scripture to read I've learnt not to take the words literally but to ask what is the message and meaning for me and my personal relationship with God. 

The answer I got was to ask God to reveal to me in all the places in my life, my mind, my spirit, my body that I have forsaken love. Where I have not allowed myself to love or be loved. Where I have withheld love and even not allowed God to love, provide and support me.

And I was asked to share this message with you today as well.

Where have you been denying, burying, avoiding, oppressing, ignoring love? 

Where don't you allow yourself to give and receive love in all the various ways and forms it may show up in your life? 

Ask God to reveal where love needs to be restored in you and your life. 

For to love is to live in God. 

When we deny love, build barriers against love and bury love we clog up the flow of all that God desires to bless us with for God is love and  loves to give but He can't whilst the receiver is withholding and denying love.

The more you open up the floodgates to give and receive love and to allow more love into your life the more you allow God to take up residence in your heart, mind, body, spirit and life in all ways. 

For to love is to live in God. 

So ask God this day through this simple prayer- 

Holy Spirit of God, the Most High, please reveal to me, show me where I am denying love in my life. Please show me all the areas in my life that require the healing balm and river of your love to flow. Please show me where I deny myself love and help me to open my heart, eyes and spirit to your love so I may give and receive love in all areas of my life. In Jesus Name, I pray, Amen. 

This was a profound moment for me this morning to have this revealed to me as I realized I don't allow love in a lot of areas of my life even in the small things and it can feel hard to allow love in as it requires you to be VULNERABLE. 

But God will restore your heart and the love that He has for you, that is in you and is who you ultimately are in divine truth. LOVE & LOVED. 

May this message bless you today with the love, peace and presence of the Most High.
