How God Brought Me A Home
I honestly love how God brings forth the things we’ve been asking for.
For a long time now I’ve desired a new home for my son and I. A home we could buy and call our own. This year the opportunity to finally buy our own home came to fruition.
However…
We entered into the market to buy a home at a time when investors from down south had started to move in. They were buying up properties left, right and centre. This caused prices to rise dramatically and a shortage of decent affordable homes.
I started to freak out. I started to go into fear and lack. I started to lose confidence as every property I was interested in got snapped up before my eyes.
The enemy started to convince me that home ownership in the current market would be impossible for me.
Then I remembered I have a God who makes the impossible possible and He provides for all of my needs.
I was then reminded of Philippians 4:6-7 - Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
So I started to say -
Thank you, God, for my beautiful new home, in a safe and secure location, with great neighbours at an affordable price.
I shifted into being thankful that it was already done and taken care of. Which it was.
The following week at a church lunch I was talking to a fellow sister in Christ who recommended a real estate agent to me. I then heard the Holy Spirit prompt me to contact this agent so I did.
This agent told me he had just received a listing where the owner wanted to sell off market, to a local, and asked if I’d be interested. I said yes.
When I pulled up to inspect the property I saw next to the letterbox of this townhouse a red and gold book where the word truth was written on it. When I looked closer it was the full gospel of Luke sitting at the entrance of this property.
Through my spiritual eye I then saw living water pouring down the driveway and as I looked up at the townhouse I saw God’s big white hand resting on the roof and He said - “this will be your home.”
So before I even entered the property I knew this would be my new home.
Holy Spirit then told me the exact amount to offer so I did and it turns out it was the exact amount of money the owner was willing to sell it for.
Within 48hours I’d bought a new home in a well sought after location near the city, a safe and secure area, at a very affordable price, a townhouse with a front and back garden, and a space that I couldn’t wait to live in.
From the seller, agent, conveyancer, broker and bank I felt incredibly loved, supported, taken care of and the whole process has been one of ease.
People were saying they couldn’t believe how lucky I’d been to score such a property, at such a price in the current market but I know I could believe because my God makes the impossible possible.
God deeply cares for you and wants to provide for you but often we allow the doubts, fears, worries, lack and scarcity of the enemy to consume us instead of putting our faith and trust in God, bringing our requests to Him and allowing Him to lead us to wonderful things and outcomes.
The enemy will convince you to force, push and control things and to live in fear and lack.
God will lead you to the things you’ve been asking for with a gentle peace and reassurance and to live in faith and trust.
Trust and have faith all is well.
You’re taken care of. You’re provided for. Allow yourself to be looked after by the One who created you and all that you see and do not see.
I love you.
Yours in Christ,
Ellen xoxo

Call to me, and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and hidden things that you do not know. (Jeremiah 33:3)
SCRIPTURE TO REFLECT ON
Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
(Matthew 6:25-34)
