Understanding the wrath & love of God

One of the things I’ve struggled with in my new walk with God, with Jesus is when He gives me super spicy and tough verses from the Old Testament (OT) to read.

For a while, I couldn’t reconcile the two different versions of God. In the OT God at times comes across as a harsh, wrathful and punishing Being and in the New Testament (NT) God comes across as a more loving, kind and compassionate Being.

When I asked God to help me understand why the differences in personality God eventually revealed to me that God has created laws -

The laws of love

laws of cause and effect

laws of liberty

laws of free will.

In the OT people were living in a lot of darkness, a lot of evil, under satanic delusion, worshipping all sorts of Gods/Goddesses/Spirits and they defiled the laws of love, laws of liberty and laws of free will and God’s laws of cause and effect came into play.

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. (Galatians 6:7-8)

When you know and understand that your Creator is ultimately LOVE and you look at the OT through the laws of love, cause and effect, you’ll no longer see a wrathful and punishing or abusive God but the laws of cause and effect playing out in response to the evil that man had been sowing and the laws of love they had been breaking and defiling.

In the OT the laws of love and trust between man and God had been broken.

In the NT the laws of love and trust were restored between man and God through Jesus.

When the OT refers to the wrath of God it’s not God punishing or abusing His children but God saying I love you, I have given you free will, I’ve tried to love, heal, restore and redeem you but you’ve turned your backs on Me, so I Am letting you go in love to reap the consequences of your evil actions. The laws of cause and effect.

Those consequences - famine, fire, floods, death and destruction.

When God came to us in the human form of Jesus He restored the circle of love and trust between man and God and reminded everyone that who their God is, is a God of love who still continues to this day to heal and restore hearts back into His infinite love.

God’s love is unconditional love, He loves the saint and sinner, the persecuted and persecutor, and seeks to love, heal, and restore every generation but man has free will.

They can choose to turn to God or turn away from their Creator. God has given you freedom to choose but when you defile and break any of His laws, the laws of love, liberty, free will there is the law of cause and effect to right the wrongs and put man back in alignment with the laws of love.

The circle of love and trust between man and God had been broken in the Old Testament and the circle of love and trust was mended between man and God in the New Testament. When people live out of alignment and integrity with the laws of love there are divine consequences and results that are issued through God’s laws of cause and effect. When the law of love is in action good results follow, when the law of love has been defiled evil results follow.

The God of wrath pertained in the Old Testament are the laws of love and the laws of cause and effect that God laid down responding to an evil and hardened heart of man. The God of love in the New Testament is man living in alignment and integrity with the laws of love and laws of cause and effect. -Christ-

A lot of people over the centuries have misunderstood and misconstrued the wrath of God in the OT and have turned our Creator into a Being who is something to be feared, someone who is abusive, oppressive, and controlling but this is a lie and a projection of the enemy (Satan) to keep us in a broken and fractured relationship with the Spirit of God, who is LOVE.

Through all the Holy Books, through all the scriptures, across all religions, faiths, and denominations God time and time again seeks for all His children to know that who He is, is LOVE.

God, why did you create the world?

You want to know your lord’s meaning in what I have done? Know it well, love was His meaning. Who reveals it to you? Love. What did He reveal to you? Love. Why does He reveal it to you? For love.
